‘Fluttering Feelings’ Artist Ssamba Passes Away

The yuri fandom is saddened by the loss of a very talented Korean artist.

It was confirmed on February 20 that Ssamba, the artist of the GL webcomic series Fluttering Feelings has passed away after battling with cancer. This was confirmed in an official obituary published in the Comico website, where her webcomic is officially published.

Ssamba died at a young age of 33.

The artist’s last Instagram post dated back September 2017. Her previous posts shows some optimism giving fans hope that she will slowly recover.
Although her previous blog posts show some sadness, the later posts show some optimism telling fans they have nothing to worry about. Last October 9. 2016, a fan opened up a GoFundMe page as a way to help the artist to recover. The artist have heard of this and politely requested the page owner (and its generous donors) to not continue with the said online campaign but has assured her fans that she’s was still receiving treatment in the hospital at that time and appreciated the never ending support.

Oh wow how do I start this?

2016 was a year of ups and downs for me. Half of the year I was so motivated, inspired, and fearless,. Now all seemed to went downhill a bit but I’m doing everything I can to get back up again. Well, on one thing I’m still alive (hence this blog post hahaha).


Aside from being Christmas, the month of December marks The Lily Cat‘s first year. It has been amazing. Aside from writing yuri reviews and the related stuff here, I am also thankful to be acquainted with a lot of good people related to the Yuri fandom and community. 

I don’t want to make this very long but regardless of the hurdles I had to go through, I’m still thankful for all the good things that happened this year and I hope the next year would be better. From the bottom of my heart, I thank you dear reader for dropping by every now and then into this little sanctuary as I share my spazz, thoughts, and viewpoints related to the things that I love and what you love.

Hello there guys! I would like to put some articles on hold for a bit and just take this opportunity to greet you all a Happy Halloween!

This blog was made December last year and it was just a few months ago when I decided to relaunch it and make this the place to share thoughts, opinions, news, and features on Yuri, Anime, video games, and so on. My love for my fandoms and writing have urged me to keep this going and I thank you guys for sticking around. Just after the relaunch, the site has reached around 10,000 views. Although Facebook has been a good platform to share what you want to share, I think putting everything in one place would be a good way to organize everything.

This blogsite may not be the best compared to other Yuri and subculture blogs, but I appreciate your comments, criticism, and encouragement that you guys write down here and in the Facebook page. These will really help me improve in my future articles. I may be very busy with my real life job but I do what I can to just keep writing and share great stuff to you as much as I can. Cheers and advance Happy Holidays to all!

It feels so good that the Comico website and Facebook page have shared to us Ssamba’s Fluttering Feelings characters in a special Halloween-themed feature. I have high hopes that the artist will recover and I can’t wait to see her make more art in the future. In behalf of the many fans who follow you: Ssamba. FIGHTING!!

Fan Opens GoFundMe Page to Support Ssamba’s Recovery – Updates

Last October 9. 2016, a fan of Ssamba’s manwha Fluttering Feelings opened up a GoFundMe page as a way to help the artist to recover. The page owner is identified as Halmoni Swag (from Los Angeles, CA). 

According to the page details, the money will be used to purchase Ssamba a new Cintiq Companion which costs around 1,500  USD as way to motivate her to recover and to make more art. The GoFundMe goal was set to 1,600 USD and the donations reached 1,665 USD in just two days.
The artist have heard of this and politely requested the page owner (and its generous donors) to not continue with the said online campaign and the Cintiq purchase. Ssamba has assured her fans that she’s still receiving treatment in the hospital and appreciates the never ending support.
